# AddAuthChoice

> The authentication paths the `odata-mcp add` wizard offers an operator.

## Definition

**Assembly:** Microsoft.OData.Mcp.Tools.dll

**Namespace:** Microsoft.OData.Mcp.Tools.Commands

**Inheritance:** System.Enum

## Syntax

```csharp theme={null}
Microsoft.OData.Mcp.Tools.Commands.AddAuthChoice
```

## Summary

The authentication paths the `odata-mcp add` wizard offers an operator.

## Remarks

Per `AUTH-5` this is a top-level type. The order is the order the menu presents, and it is
deliberate: the four OAuth paths come before the two credential-in-config paths, which come before the
escape hatch, because the warning text the wizard prints for the last three refers to "OAuth (1–4)".

## Values

| Name | Value | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `None` | 0 | The service needs no credential at all. |
| `Discover` | 1 | Probe the service's <c>\$metadata</c>, read the challenge, run OAuth discovery, and recommend a grant. |
| `DeviceCode` | 2 | RFC 8628 device authorization grant. |
| `AuthorizationCode` | 3 | RFC 6749 authorization code grant with PKCE over a loopback redirect. |
| `ClientCredentials` | 4 | RFC 6749 client credentials grant, for a daemon acting as itself. |
| `ApiKey` | 5 | A raw API key sent in an operator-named header. |
| `Basic` | 6 | HTTP Basic authentication. |
| `PasteToken` | 7 | A bearer token the operator already holds, written into the generated command. |
