# Local MCP

> A small app on your machine for any OData service. Compact tools, fewer tokens, live data.

Local MCP (`dotnet odata-mcp`) runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. You point it at an OData service root. It reads `$metadata`, builds a compact catalog, and speaks MCP to your assistant over stdio.

Package: [`Microsoft.OData.Mcp`](https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.OData.Mcp/).
