Most hosts stop at two lines. Use this page when you want the assistant to sound like your product, or when you do not want every route on the box.

Tell the assistant what this API is

That sentence is prepended to the shared instructions every Remote MCP host already sends (prefer named tools, omit $ on parameter names, and so on). You cannot replace those; you only introduce your product. Keep it short. Currency, tenancy, and where to start are enough.

Show only some of the API

Empty include lists mean “everything we discovered.” ExcludeRoutes hides a prefix after include. Turn off create, update, or delete named tools with Catalog.IncludeCreate / IncludeUpdate / IncludeDelete when those verbs should stay off-limits.

Canned prompts

The catalog does not invent prompts from your EDM. If you want “quarterly review” as a first-class prompt the harness can pick:

Slow the endpoint down

Lock it like the API, then add a limiter if harness traffic will share the box with humans:
How the harness authenticates is authentication.
Discovery still runs and wins when it finds the same prefix.
ToolsPageSize (default 100), MaxResources (50, including $metadata), payload caps, and MaxOperationWait (10 minutes) live on options.Catalog. See ODataMcpCatalogOptions.
